It’s great to always have cannabis butter on hand, but it can get boring only ever spreading it on toast or using it to bake cookies. Cooking with cannabis creates a wonderful opportunity to try new dishes while enjoying food in a whole new way.

This simple recipe will give you creamy cannabis butter you can then use in many of your other recipes. Add it to risotto, use it in stuffing, melt some into a sauce or top your steak with a pat. A nice chunk of it under the skin of a whole chicken infuses it with amazing flavours and effective therapeutic benefits.

Use the herbs below or feel free to add or substitute any others you prefer, such as Basil and Oregano, Lemon Thyme, Cinnamon Sugar, or Garlic and Chive. The possibilities are endless, and once you begin playing with your food it’ll be hard to stop but your stomach will thank you.

Butter can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three weeks, or in the freezer for up to six months. When storing butter, wrap in saran wrap, mould into log and cut pieces off as needed.

THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE

As a general guideline, when first using cannabis extracts patients should take the lowest dose possible and wait 90 minutes for onset (and potentially longer) to determine peak effect.
Unlike inhalation, extracts are processed through the liver so the onset of effects takes longer.
A typical dose can range from 5-10mg of THC. Beginners may want to start at 1-2.5 mg of THC.

  • Remove herb leaves from stems.

  • Place Herbs in a food processor and process until chopped

  • Add butter and blend well.
