On Thursday, medical cannabis licensed producer MedReleaf confirmed that it is in talks with rivals, including Aurora Cannabis, about “various alternatives”.

The Globe and Mail has reported that Aurora cannabis has submitted a friendly offer to acquire the company, and that it is being reviewed by a committee.

MedReleaf, the country’s third largest grower, has a market cap of $2.25 billion, and would be the second major purchase for Aurora within the year, having recently purchased CanniMed Therapeutics Inc. in January.
