The first two coffeeshops in Paris legally allowed to sell cannabis have attracted long lines  and eager customers.

Their product however, is not what consumers usually expect when they hear the term “coffee shop”. French law only permits cannabis containing less than .2 percent THC, the main psychoactive ingredient, and so the two coffee shops do not offer an “amsterdam-esque” atmosphere people were hoping for.

Despite what many saw as a disappointment, French law is moving towards a much more lenient view of cannabis, and the debate for medical and even recreational marijuana within the country can soon be a reality.
