Garden Centres in Alberta have been disappointed by regulation that won't allow them to sell marijuana seeds or seedlings when recreational cannabis becomes legal this fall.

Customers will be able to buy supplies at garden centres, but only regulated cannabis stores will be allowed to sell seeds or plants.

Under federal legislation, Canadian’s will be allowed to grow up to four plants for personal use when it becomes legal on October 17th.

An option to sell marijuana seeds or seedlings could be a profitable, all-year-round opportunity for many garden centres across the country.
