New research out of the UK suggests a single dose of CBD can help reduce psychotic symptoms. According to the research, when suspected psychosis patients are given a single 600 mg oral dose of the compound cannabidiol (CBD), their symptoms become less severe.

MRI scans taken after giving patients the CBD showcased that the supplement helps to “readjust brain activity to normal levels”.

The researchers from King’s College London analysed 33 people in their early-to-mid 20s who were experiencing distressing psychotic symptoms but had yet to be diagnosed with psychosis. They were compared with 19 healthy people with an average age of 23.
