The Vancouver School Board is taking an active approach to ensuring its students are educated about the marijuana ahead of legalization.

Despite being a common sight for many generations of high school students, it appears that there is still a large gap in honest, factual knowledge of cannabis, and what many currently believe.
According to Art Steinmann, manager of substance use and health promotion, the board is working with Vancouver Coastal Health to educate the students with a program called SACY (substance Use Health Promotion Initiative).

He added “You know, we’re also not panicking and being alarmed and overly worried that suddenly youth who’ve never used marijuana are all gonna start using marijuana. That's probably not realistic.”
