After a fierce battle with Japanese regulators, Australian medicinal cannabis company Elixinol has launched Japan’s first campaign advertising any cannabis related product.
The ad, which sits in Tokyo’s Omotesando train station, is on display to promote a hemp oil product.

CBD was legalized in November 2016 in Japan, however lawmakers have aggressively fought back against any momentum in favor of medical or recreational marijuana.

With an aging, health conscious, population, and the third largest consumer economy in the world, many cannabis industry players are awaiting law reform to allow them access to what is surely a cash cow of a market.
