On Thursday, Lithuania’s parliament voted to pass a law allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana-based medicines.

The lawmakers voted 90-0 in favour of the bill, with three absentees.

The bill must now be signed into law by Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaite and will go into force in May 2019.

The country joins a growing list of European countries who have legalized cannabis for medical purposes include Austria, Britain, Croatia, Finland, Germany, and Greece.
